Man alleges rental property had mold damage

Contract 10

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man and his son are seeking damages following an incident in which the property they were renting was allegedly infested with mold.

Andre Keith Dugue, individually and on behalf of his minor son Andre K. Goudeau Jr., filed a suit against Crystal of Kenner LLC and ABC Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on April 25.

According to the claim, the plaintiff and the defendant entered into a lease agreement in January for the property located at 1020 Lynnette Drive in Metairie, for a residential property. After moving into the property and living there, the plaintiff and his son allegedly began to smell mold, and later discovered that the property had not been repaired from the mold damage it had sustained in the past. The plaintiff and his son allegedly suffered damages due to the state of the property.

The defendants are accused of negligence, both through the management of the property and failure to rectify the issue.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by J. Michael Daly Jr. of Walker Daly LLP in Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division I Judge Nancy A. Miller.
