NEW ORLEANS — A New Orleans lawyer is suing two former employees, alleging they stole funds from his account.

Michael S. Fawer filed a lawsuit May 3 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Regina Ally Lawton and Hailey Lawton, now both of Tennessee, alleging fraud.

According to the complaint, going back to 2011, Fawer learned Reginia Lawton had stolen funds from him in a variety of ways, all without his authorization or knowledge. The suit alleges Regina Lawton issued duplicate paychecks to herself, issued checks to Hailey Lawton for unearned amounts, transferred funds to her personal bank account and issued electronic checks to herself.

The lawsuit states, Hailey Lawton conspired to convert his funds, at least as it relates to the types of transfers.

Fawer seeks a trial by jury, judgment for all amounts reasonable in the premises, all legal costs and all general and equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Al J. Robert, Jr. of Law Office of Al J. Robert, Jr. LLC in New Orleans.
