120 West Partners LLC seeks payment for shoring contract

Late 06

GRETNA – A company alleges that a Jefferson Parish couple has not paid for a shoring contract for cleanup related to Hurricane Katrina.

120 West Partners LLC filed a suit against Oscar R. Alvarado and Olga G. Alvarado in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 13.

According to the claim, the defendants entered into a shoring contract with the plaintiff's predecessor on Feb. 5, 2011, following which a promissory note was issued. The note states that the plaintiff would perform a number of duties related to the shoring contract, according to the suit. However, the suit states that the defendant failed or refused to honor the promissory note.

The defendants are accused of failure to pay and uphold the details of the promissory note and contract.

The plaintiff is seeking $30,000 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Blake E. Oakes of the Oakes Law Firm in Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Henry G. Sullivan Jr.
