Law money 06

LAFAYETTE — A Boosier Parish consumer is suing three financial entities, alleging misrepresentation of credit information.

Lola Rene Williams filed a lawsuit May 19 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana against Equifax Information Services LLC, Credit Acceptance Corporation and First Interstate Bank, alleging they violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

According to the complaint, Williams has suffered damages on her creditworthiness because the defendants erroneously reported derogatory and negative credit information to national reporting agencies, failed to properly investigate and failed to file any proceedings to declare the plaintiff's debt is non-dischargeable.

Williams seeks a trial by jury, compensation for all damages, legal costs, attorney fees and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented by attorney Samuel J. Ford of New Orleans.
