Man alleges he was injured in fall at Pellerin Laundry Machinery Sales

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish man claims he was caused to fall on a poorly maintained surface.

Bernard Burton filed a suit against State National Insurance Co. and Pellerin Laundry Machinery Sales Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 10.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was injured while on the premises of Pellerin Laundry Machinery Sales at 731 Jackson St. in Kenner on Dec. 7, 2015. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall when he was walking and encountered an uneven surface which was paired with an unlit and poorly maintained ramp.

The defendants are accused of negligence in their failure to provide a safe environment, failure to maintain the premises in a proper manner and allowing guests to walk on a dangerous portion of ground, as well as failure to repair the damaged portion.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Brian King, Jason F. Giles, Anthony J Milazzo, Justin Reese and James E. Courtenay of the King Firm in New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.
