Noble Drilling employee alleges he was injured in accident

Medical malpractice 09

NEW ORLEANS – A seaman alleges an accident on a ship left him with injuries.

Shaun Burkeen filed a complaint on May 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Noble Drilling LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on or about Dec. 23 or 24, 2015, while he was employed by the defendant aboard the vessel Don Taylor, he experienced an accident which resulted in injuries to his neck and other parts of his body. He claims he has suffered physical, mental and emotional pain and suffering, loss of wages and fringe benefits and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Noble Drilling LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a reasonably safe place to work, failed to properly train and supervise him, failed to take any means or precautions for the safety of its employees, created and maintained a unseaworthy vessel and failed to provide adequate equipment for the job.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for all damages, together with legal interest, all costs, including expert fees, and for all other general and equitable relief. He is represented by Timothy J. Young, Tammy D. Harris, Megan C. Misko and Daniel J. Poolson Jr. of The Young Law Firm in New Orleans.
