GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages following an incident in which she was allegedly caused to slip and fall in a puddle of water.
Edna Bessy Sandoval filed a suit against Greater Lakeside Corp., Broadwill Management Corp. and U.S. Specialty Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 20.
According to the claim, the plaintiff was a patron at the Lakeside Shopping Center on 3301 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Metairie when the incident occurred on May 25, 2015. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused injuries when she stepped in a puddle of water and fell on her back.
The defendants are accused of negligence through their failure to maintain the premises in a safe condition, failure to foresee such dangers and failure to exercise reasonable care.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Kevin J. Katner of New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
