Essex Crane Rental Corp. alleges it is owed for crane rental

LAFAYETTE – A crane owner alleges that it leased the crane to a company that has not paid for its rental.

Essex Crane Rental Corp. filed a complaint on May 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana against DB Crossmar 7 and Cross Group Inc. alleging that they breached of the terms and conditions of the bare equipment rental agreement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants owe approximately $201,000 for crane rental through May 18. The plaintiff holds DB Crossmar 7 and Cross Group Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly have defaulted in paying its contract agreement and continue to have possession of the crane.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in against defendant for approximately $201,000, together with interest at the contractually agreed rate and/or prejudgment interest, expenses, attorney’s fees and costs and such other and further relief which it may deem just and proper.
