Kenner couple alleges home was damaged by faulty work

Contract 08

GRETNA – A couple alleges their Kenner home was damaged after faulty work was done on their foundation.

Ronald and Wandalyn Julian filed a suit against Davie Shoring Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 19.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs and defendant entered into an agreement in 2009 in which the defendant agreed to elevate the slab foundation of their home at 3016 Tupelo St. The total cost for the work was $33,975. After the defendant allegedly finished the work, the plaintiffs claim that they began to notice cracks in the walls and baseboards around the home. The suit states that an engineer and an electrician stated the work done by the defendant was flawed and unfinished.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract through failure to finish the task as outlined, negligence through failure to complete the job in a workmanlike manner and other complaints by the plaintiffs.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by C. Hunter King of the King Law Firm in Baton Rouge. The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
