Man alleges he was injured in Home Depot store

GRETNA – A Jefferson Parish couple alleges the husband was injured when a box of fittings fell on him while at a Home Depot.

Brian Williams and Ericka Williams filed a suit against Home Depot USA Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on May 26.

According to the claim, Brian Williams was customer in the Gretna Home Depot on June 23, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that while in the Home Depot, the plaintiff was caused injury when a box of fittings fell and struck him.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failure to prevent objects from falling on customers, failure to place products in a safe manner, failure to maintain the premises in a way that ensured the customers' safety and overall failure to know of the present dangers.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Sean P. Early of Klotz and Early in New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.
