GRETNA – Two individuals are seeking damages after an alleged dog attack.

Jerome Broussard and Justin Pamplin filed a suit against Stacy Hicks, Gretna Police Department, city of Gretna Code Enforcement and Jefferson SPCA in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 1.

According to the claim, Broussard's dog was injured when a neighbor's dog invaded his yard on May 28, 2015. The suit states that the neighbor's dog came into Broussard's property and proceeded to attack his own dog as well as Pamplin, who was watching Broussard's dog.

The defendants are accused of violation of legislation concerning pit bulls, and acts of fault through failing to restrain or take responsibility of the dog, as well as failure to warn others of the tendencies of her dog.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Jeffrey F. Speer and George A. Wright of Doucet-Speer in Lafayette. The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
