Two individuals file suit claiming injuries after accident

Car accident 08

GRETNA – Two Jefferson Parish individuals are seeking damages, claiming that they were caused personal injury in a car accident on Citrus Boulevard.

William and Rebecca Dugally filed a suit against Louis Gregory Dean Jr., ITA Truck Sales and Service LLC, Harco National Insurance Co., State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. and Louisiana Farm Bureau Insurance Agency Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 3.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs were in a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis on 5700 Citrus Blvd. in Jefferson Parish when the incident occurred on May 28, 2015. The suit states that while Rebecca Dugally was operating her vehicle in a safe manner, the plaintiffs' car was struck by a 2006 Ford E-250, which was operated by Dean and owned by ITA Truck Sales and Service. The suit further states that in striking the vehicle, the plaintiffs' car was thrown violently to the right side of the road.

The defendant Dean is accused of negligence through failure to exercise reasonable care, failure to maintain adequate distances between vehicles, failure to control the vehicle and keep a lookout.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Jonathan R. DeTrinis of DeT Law Firm in New Orleans. The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
