NEW ORLEANS — A Louisiana couple is suing General Motors, alleging failure to fix a defective car.

Two consumers are suing General Motors LLC, Gerry Lane Buick-GMC LLC and Americredit Financial Services Inc., alleging breach of warranty.

Devon Young and Darnell Young of Louisiana filed a lawsuit June 27 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against General Motors LLC, Gerry Lane Buick-GMC LLC and Americredit Financial Services Inc., alleging violation of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 14, 2015, Devon and Darnell Young purchased a new 2015 GMC Sierra 3500 for $71,720, which they later discovered to be defective in materials and workmanship. The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to repair the vehicle to bring it into conformity with warranties and failed and refused to buy back the defective vehicle.

The Youngs seek a trial by jury, judgment for rescinding the sale of the vehicle, returning of the purchase price, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, legal costs and all other relief the court deems appropriate. They are represented by attorney Richard C. Dalton of Mandeville.
