Woman claims she was injured after slipping while shopping in a Walmart

Slip01

NEW ORLEANS – A St. Tammany Parish woman claims she was injured in a slip-and-fall incident in a Walmart store.

Nora Bowers filed a complaint on June 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Wal-Mart Louisiana LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 17, 2015, she was a guest patron inside the Walmart store located in Slidell. While walking through an aisle of the premises, she allegedly slipped and fell on a substance left on the floor by the defendants' employee. The plaintiff holds Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Wal-Mart Louisiana LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly created and allowed the dangerous and hazardous condition to exist, failed to remedy such condition and failed to warn guests of the floor's dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, jointly, severally and in solido, for all damages which are just and reasonable in the premise, for all costs, prejudgment interest and for all general and equitable relief the court may deem appropriate. She is represented by Joseph M. Bruno Jr. and Brandon Bennett of Bruno & Bruno LLP in New Orleans.
