NEW ORLEANS — A PK Technology employee is suing Chevron, alleging negligence caused the plaintiff to sustain injuries.

Isaac Thibodeaux filed a lawsuit July 1 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Chevron USA, Inc. and Jade Marine Inc., alleging negligence in failing to provide a reasonably safe place to work.

According to the complaint, ton April 28, while Thibodeaux was working for PK Technology in the Gulf of Mexico, he fell from a swinging rope hanging from the platform to the M/V Mr. Clint and landed in the gulf.  The suit says he sustained serious injuries to his back, neck and other parts of his body.

The incident, the lawsuit states, caused Thibodeaux to suffer physical and emotional pain, lost wages and benefits and medical expenses. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly land him on the vessel, causing him to land in the gulf, created and maintained an unseaworthy vessel, and failed to provide adequate equipment for the job.

Thibodeaux seeks a trial by jury, all damages, legal interest, all legal costs including expert fees, plus all other general and equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys Timothy J. Young, Tammy D. Harris, Megan C. Misko and Daniel J. Poolson of The Young Firm in New Orleans.
