Store owners allege they were not reimbursed for damages caused by roof collapse

Law money 10

GRETNA – The owners of a tattoo parlor and jewelry store allege a collapsed roof damaged their business.

William McNeese and Abid Hussain, doing business as XTC Rings Inc., filed a suit against Atain Specialty Insurance Co. and Fong Enterprises Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 22.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs were the owners of the business XTC Rings Inc. and leased a property in Kenner. The suit states that in July 2015, a roof leak occurred, causing damages to the property. The suit states that Fong Enterprises made temporary patch repairs to the roof, but in October 2015, the roof collapsed, causing substantial damages to the plaintiffs' property. The suit additionally states that the damages exceeded $20,000, but that they were never reimbursed by the defendants for the damages suffered.

The defendants are accused of failure to reimburse for the damages suffered and failure to repair the roof in a satisfactory manner that would prevent future damages.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Albert J. Nicaud and Jeffrey M. Siemssen of Nicaud & Sunseri in Metairie. The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Cornelius E. Regan
