Harahan company alleges customer owes $28,000 in outstanding charges

GRETNA – A Harahan oil and fuel company is seeking damages after a customer allegedly failed to pay for the goods received.

Retif Oil & Fuel LLC filed a suit against J Hamad LLC and Mahmoud Alkhatib, also known as Mike Alkhatib, in the 24th Judicial District Court on June 21.

According to the claim, the plaintiff provided goods and services to the defendant, which totaled a value of more than $28,000, in April 2014. The suit states that the defendant has yet failed to make payments for the goods and services received.

The defendant is accused of failure to pay for the outstanding balance.

The plaintiff is seeking $28,256.47 in damages. It is represented by Steven H. Watterson of Powers, Sellers & Chapoton LLP in Baton Rouge. The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
