A woman claims that she was sold a house that was smaller than advertised

NEW ORLEANS — A woman is seeking damages, claiming that she was sold a home that was smaller than advertised, causing her to be overcharged per square foot.

Emily Lambert filed a suit against Michelle Bushey, Danielle Marcotte, Jeremy Reneau and H.O.D.C. LLC, doing business as Keller Williams Realty New Orleans in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on June 23.

According to the claim, the plaintiff purchased a home from the defendants under the belief that the house had a square footage of 1,554. The suit states that after taking possession of the property, the plaintiff became aware the the property was smaller than advertised.

The defendant is accused of fraudulent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, professional negligence and enrichment without cause.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Scott M. Galant and Salvador I. Bivalacqua.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.

The Orleans Parish Civil District Court Case number 16-6304.
