NEW ORLEANS — An African-American employee has filed a complaint against his former employer for alleged racial discrimination.
Jonathan Stubberfield filed a complaint July 6 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Hercules Offshore, alleging that the business violated his right to be free of discrimination and retaliation.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was subjected to racial slurs said by his Hispanic supervisor Bidal Faragosa. Faragosa also made him to complete others’ work on a daily basis. He was terminated for having a fight with Faragosa. The plaintiff holds Hercules Offshore responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected him to discrimination and retaliation for having complained of racial harassment.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all legal and equitable relief, including, but not limited to lost wages, emotional distress, attorney’s fees, all expert fees and costs. He is represented by J. Courtney Wilson of J Courtney Wilson, Attorney at Law in Metairie.
