NEW ORLEANS – A Terrebonne Parish man alleges he was injured while working aboard the quarterbarge Chandeleur.

Ronald Feet filed a complaint on July 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Ed Broussard Marine Service LLC and Quality Marine Services Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 20, 2014, he was injured when he fell while attempting to descend a moveable bunkbed ladder in his assigned room aboard the Chandeleur. He claims he sustained injuries to his right shoulder, causing him to suffer physical and mental pain, loss of earnings, and medical and related expenses.

The plaintiff holds Ed Broussard Marine Service LLC and Quality Marine Services Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly installed a moveable bunkbed ladder that did not fit for its intended purpose, failed to provide a safe place to work, and failed to install railings or handholds to hold on to in descending the movable ladder.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for maintenance and cure, attorneys’ fees, costs, damages incurred, and for all general and equitable relief. He is represented by Terrence J. Lestelle, Andreas S. Lestelle and Richard M. Morgan of Lestelle & Lestelle APLC in Metairie and Evette Ungar of Waltzer Wiygul & Garside LLC in Metairie.
