Man files suit against Seadrill Americas after on-the-job injuries

NEW ORLEANS – A seaman alleges he was injured on the job while employed by Seadrill Americas.

Lance C. Bondus filed a complaint on July 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Seadrill Americas Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 9 he sustained physical injuries to his right knee while on the defendant's vessel the West Neptune. The plaintiff holds Seadrill Americas Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a safe place to work, failed to give proper and appropriate warning and failed to adequately plan the operation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks jury and seeks judgment against defendant in the amount of $2 million, plus interest, costs and all other just and equitable relief. He is represented by Berney L. Strauss, Rhett E. King of Strauss & King APLC in New Orleans.
