GRETNA – A woman claims that she was caused to trip and fall outside of a hotel because of poorly maintained cement.

Brenda Villanueva filed a suit against Trans Inns Management Inc., doing business as Fairfield Inn & Suites New Orleans Airport, and Travelers, doing business as The Charter Oak Fire Ins. Co., in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 1.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest of the Fairfield Inn & Suites New Orleans Airport in Kenner on July 3, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was walking towards the hotel entrance when she was caused to trip and fall on broken cement.

The defendants are accused of omission and commission through failing to repair the broken cement, failing to provide warning of the danger and failing to provide a safe environment for customers.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Bryce A. Murray and Michael S. Brandner Jr. of Brandner Law Firm LLC in Louisiana.

The case has been assigned to Division G Judge E. Adrian Adams.
