Delgado Community College alleges former student owes more than $1,200

GRETNA – Delgado Community College claims that a student failed to pay for a semester of classes.

The Louisiana Community and Technical College System through Delgado Community College filed a suit against Derrick Terrell Chestnut in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 19.

According to the claim, the plaintiff admitted the defendant as a student in the semester of Spring 2013. The suit states that despite enjoying the benefits of attending the community college, the defendant failed to pay off his balance of more than $1,200.

The defendant is accused of open account through failing to pay for attending the institution.

The plaintiff is seeking $1,297.05 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
