Motorist, passengers blame truck driver for causing crash

Car accident 38

NEW ORLEANS — Four Mexican residents are suing a Kansas truck driver, his company and his insurers, alleging negligence caused a vehicle crash that injured the plaintiffs.

Salvador Fabian Esparza-Lopez, Rosalia Carbajal-Luna, Hector Aguero and Dora Contreras filed a lawsuit July 21 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Keith G. Guillory of Wichita, Kansas, an unknown auto insurer, A&G Trucking LLC and United Financial Casualty Company, alleging Guillory failed to maintain proper control of his commercial vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 13, 2015, Guillory, who was driving for A&G Trucking, was traveling eastbound on Interstate Highway 10 in St. Charles Parish when he rear-ended an ambulance, causing multiple collisions. The suit says one of the collisions caused the plaintiffs to suffer personal injuries and/or property damages, physical pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of consortium, loss of earnings and loss of wages. The lawsuit says they also incurred extensive/expensive medical treatment and costs.

The plaintiffs allege Guillory failed to keep proper lookout, operated his commercial vehicle in a careless manner and failed to timely stop his vehicle to avoid a collision.

The plaintiffs seek a trial by jury, judgment that is reasonable on the premises, compensation for their damages, legal interest, all costs of suit and all relief deemed proper by the court. They are represented by attorneys Joseph M. Bruno and Donald D. Reichert Jr. of Bruno & Bruno LLP in New Orleans and by Lillian L. Stephens in Kenner.
