A&A Mechanical LLC alleges it was not paid for work on New Group Camp project

GRETNA – A Chalmette company is seeking damages, claiming that it was not paid for the work it completed.

A&A Mechanical LLC filed a suit against Patriot Contracting LLC, Travelers Casualty Insurance Co. of America and Star Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on July 25.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was subcontracted in July 2014 for the completion of a plumbing job as part of the New Group Camp at Bayou Segnette State Park. The suit states that despite finishing the work in a workmanlike and timely manner, the defendants have failed to compensate the plaintiff for the work completed.

The defendants are accused of breach of contract, failure to promptly pay and unjust enrichment.

The plaintiff is seeking $123,941.77 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Brad Cousins and H. Minor Pipes III of Barrasso Usdin Kupperman Freeman & Sarver LLC in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division K Judge Ellen Shirer Kovach.
