Woman seeks damages after driver allegedly failed to yield at Carol Sue intersection

NEW ORLEANS – A Jefferson Parish driver alleges she was struck after a motorist failed to yield at an intersection.

Brandi Oregeron filed a suit against Imperial Fire & Casualty Insurance Co., National General Insurance and Sandra Toledo in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 2.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was operating her vehicle on Dec. 10, 2015, westbound on Carol Sue and the intersection of Terry Parkway when the incident occurred. The suit states that Toledo failed to yield when making a turn and collided with the plaintiff's car, causing injuries to the plaintiff's vehicle.

Toledo is accused of failing to maintain control of her motor vehicle, failing to operate her vehicle in a safe manner and failing to stop.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Timothy R. Richardson and Freeman R. Matthews of Usry, Weeks & Matthews of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
