Law firm claims associate attorney simultaneously worked for the competition

Contract 05

NEW ORLEANS – A law firm claims that a contractor breached his agreement by working for the competition.

Brandner Law Firm LLC filed a suit against Bryce Murray and Big Easy Law Group LLC in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 5.

According to the claim, Murray was employed by Brander as an independent contractor prior to Aug. 3. The suit states that although the defendant was compensated well for his work and given support, the defendant allegedly took actions in order to unfairly gain competition for Big Easy Law Group while still being employed by the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of breach of contract through false misrepresentation, acts of conspiracy and overall breach of agreements that he previously pledged to uphold

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Stephen M. Huber, Gina M. Palermo and Richard Olivier of New Orleans and Todd C. Comeaux of Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Tiffany G. Chase.
