Woman alleges chair broke, caused her injuries

GRETNA – An individual is seeking damages, claiming that a faulty chair caused personal injuries.

Fallon Leon filed a suit against At Home Group Inc., John Doe, ABC company, Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. and the Hartford Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 5.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was caused personal physical injuries on Aug. 7, 2015. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to fall when she sat on a chair that had been manufactured by ABC company while shopping at At Home's Kenner location.

The defendants are accused of negligence through allowing unsafe conditions on the property, failing to warn the plaintiff of the defects in the chair and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Morris W. Reed Jr. of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.
