Northwestern State University alleges former student owes more than $2,000

NEW ORLEANS – Northwestern State University is seeking damages for more than $2,000 over an allegedly open account.

The University of Louisiana Board of Supervisors through Northwestern State University filed a suit against Paul C. Carr in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Aug. 15.

According to the claim, the plaintiff admitted the defendant as a student to the institution. The suit states that the defendant has maintained an open account with the plaintiff for more than $2,000.

The plaintiff is seeking $2,249 in damages, plus interest and attorney's fees. The plaintiff is represented by Scott L. Smith Jr. of the Louisiana Department of Justice in Baton Rouge.

The case has been assigned to Division B Judge Regina Bartholomew Woods.
