Man claims he was injured when a chair broke underneath him

GRETNA – A man claims that a chair collapsed under him and caused him injuries.

Frank Briscoe III filed a suit against Ceasar's LLC, doing business as Caesar's, and Music Insurance Co., in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 4.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a customer at Ceasar's on Aug. 11, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused injury when the chair that he was sitting in collapsed and he fell to the ground, causing him to injure his neck, back, hip and knees.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to provide proper seating, failure to check for defects in the furniture and failing to maintain the property.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. He is represented by Sean P. Early of Klotz and Early in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Donald A. Rowan Jr.
