A1 Solar Source Inc. accused of misrepresenting tax credits for solar panels

Contract 01

GRETNA – A Marrero man alleges an Orleans Parish company misrepresented the availability of tax credits for the installation of solar panels.

Dion Thornton filed a suit against A1 Solar Source Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 30.

According to the claim, the defendant completed solar panel work for the plaintiff in October 2015 on his Marrero home, for which the plaintiff was allegedly promised tax rebates to offset the cost. The suit states, however, that the defendant misstated the information about the rebates, thus injuring the plaintiff. He also alleges the defendant's employees damaged his roof.

The defendant is accused of faulty workmanship, breach of contract and misrepresentation.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Raul E. Guerra Jr. of Stephen Rue & Associates in Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division C Judge June Berry Darensburg.
