Orleans Parish couple accused of not making home improvements per contract

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority alleges two homeowners did not make improvements to a property as agreed upon.

The New Orleans Redevelopment Authority filed a suit against Chanel Brooks, wife of, and Clyde Brooks in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the claim, the defendants entered into an agreement in 2011 for the purchase of a New Orleans home with the agreement that they would make certain improvements and repairs to it in exchange for a lower price for the property. The suit states that the defendants failed to make the repairs as promised.

The defendants are accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking $3,849 in damages. It is represented by Victoria Hines of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division M Judge Paulette R. Irons.
