Widow, two children blame tourist bus company for husband's death in crash

Car accident 39

SHREVEPORT — A widow and two children are suing a bus touring company, alleging their negligence caused a crash that killed a family member.

Rosia Lea Bell, Laura R. Gallardo and Dale G. Randol filed a lawsuit Aug. 17 in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana Shreveport Division against Crussin’ Explorer Transportation, Inc., doing business as Cline Tours Inc., National Interstate Insurance Company and Herbert Kelly, alleging Kelly drove in a careless manner.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 26, 2015, Bell's daughter Ronda Lewis was driving Bell's 2009 Chrysler Town & Country van on Interstate Highway 20 in Bossier City when Kelly's chartered bus crashed into the back of the plaintiff's van, resulting in serious injuries to Harold D. Randol. He ultimately died Oct. 9, 2015, the suit says.

The plaintiffs allege Kelly, who was working for Cline Tours, failed to keep proper lookout, failed to discharge his duties as a responsible and professional driver, and failed to keep proper distance.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, adequate damages to compensate the plaintiffs respective damages, plus interest, costs of suit and all other relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by attorneys Richard R. Kennedy and Richard R. Kennedy III of Lafayette.
