Woman alleges she was injured by jugs of water at Harvey Walmart

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages over claims that she was injured by falling jugs of water fell at a Walmart.

Dilcia M. Requeno filed a suit against Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and Walmart Louisiana LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on Aug. 25.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a customer of the Walmart located at 1501 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey on Aug. 28, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused personal injury when she reached for a jug of gallon water. The suit explains that the as she pulled for the gallon of water, a stack of jugs fell on top of her due to improper stocking of the items.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failure to train and supervise employees properly, failure to stack the items properly and failure to ensure the safety of individuals shopping in the store.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Joseph M. Bruno and Daniel A. Meyer of Bruno & Bruno in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Michael P. Mentz.
