NEW ORLEANS – A senior inspector alleges he was injured when the ship transporting him to a lift boat collided with another boat.

Rakhshan Pashayev filed a complaint on Aug. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against the Kevin Gros Consulting & Marine Services Inc., Kevin Gros Offshore LLC and Emily Gros Offshore LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 7, 2015, he was a passenger and was sleeping aboard defendants' vessel Emily G when it collided with a large shrimp boat. The impact allegedly lifted up his body and slammed him into a metal wall, causing him to sustain injuries.

The plaintiff holds Kevin Gros Consulting & Marine Services Inc., Kevin Gros Offshore LLC and Emily Gros Offshore LLC responsible because defendants' captain allegedly failed to keep proper lookout, failed to monitor the vessel's radar and radio and failed to take action to avoid collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation in an amount that is reasonable in the premises, plus interest, costs of these proceedings and for all general and equitable relief. He is represented by Terrence J. Lestelle, Andrea S. Lestelle and Richard M. Morgain of Lestelle & Lestelle in Metairie.
