Shriya Hospitality accused of allowing slime to accumulate on sidewalk, cause woman to fall

Slip01

BATON ROUGE – An Arizona woman claims a hazardous condition on a sidewalk at a Baton Rouge hotel caused her to fall and break her hip.

Betty Lou Moses filed a complaint on Aug. 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana against Shriya Hospitality LLC alleging liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 5, as she was walking to access defendant's The Knight’s Inn front office, she slipped in a puddle of moisture and accumulated slime and fell hard to the ground, causing her to break her hip and need hip replacement surgery. The plaintiff holds Shriya Hospitality LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to highlight the hazardous situation, failed to warn the inn's guest of the hazard and failed to properly maintain the air conditioning units and walkway.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in the amount of $1 million, plus costs, disbursements, attorney fees, interest and other relief the court deems equitable. She is represented by Daniel A. Claitor and Lindsay C. Rabalais of The Law Office of Dan Claitor in Baton Rouge.
