Woman blames dog owners for attack

GRETNA – A woman's lawsuit alleges she was attacked by a loose dog.

Chin Yere Kelly filed a suit against Carlos E. Estevez, Pedro Estevez, Isabel V. Estevez and State Farm Fire & Casualty Company in the 24th Judicial District Court on September 8.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was in Jefferson Parish on Sept. 28, 2015,when the incident occurred. The suit states that while walking near 2176 S. Glencove Lane, the plaintiff was attacked by a dog kept at the home of Pedro and Isabel Estevez.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to properly restrain the dog.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Peirce A. Hammond II and Shelley Hammond Provosty.

The case has been assigned to Division D Judge Scott U. Schlegel.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 764548.
