Tulane-Lakeside Hospital accused of not properly credentialing doctor

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages for an allegedly improper drug injection.

Sribash Das, individually and as curator for Susmita Das, and as the natural tutor of minor children Sachinandan and Subal Das, filed a suit against University Healthcare System LC, doing business as Tulane-Lakeside Hospital, in the 24th Judicial District Court on Sept. 7.

According to the claim, Susmita Das was negligently given an injection of digoxin into an epidural line, causing severe injuries to her and her unborn child Subal Das.

The defendant is accused of negligence and failure to properly credential the doctor who performed the injection.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is representing himself.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Stephen C. Grefer.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 764495.
