Man blames Ochsner Clinic Foundation for elevator injuries

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages for injuries he allegedly sustained while at a hospital.

Leonard Naquin filed a suit against Ochsner Clinic Foundation in the 24th Judicial District Court on September 6.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was visitng a patient at the main campus of the Ochsner Hospital when the incident occurred on Sept. 9, 2015. The suit states that the plaintiff was injured while visiting his father because of a malfunctioning elevator, which he alleges abruptly rose about a foot and closed the doors when he was exiting it, striking him in the back. The suit states that the plaintiff then had to undergo surgery which was both painful and resulted in complications to his overall health.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to prevent such injuries, and allowing such malfunctions to exist with the elevator.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Leon C. Vital III.

The case has been assigned to Division O Judge Danyelle M. Taylor.

The 24th Judicial District Court Case number 764462.
