Woman blames Cox Communications Louisiana for fall over exposed cable

GRETNA – A woman is seeking damages after allegedly tripping over an exposed cable.

Tammy Baker filed a suit against Cox Communications Louisiana LLC in the 24th Judicial District Court on September 15.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at Milton Simmons' home at 2743 Bark Ave. in Marrero when the incident occurred on Feb. 24. The suit states that the plaintiff tripped and fell over a cable that had been left exposed, and that Cox had been notified of the danger for months.

The defendant is accused of negligence through failing to remove or repair the cable and failing to warn of the danger related to the cable being exposed.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Peter M. Meisner.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
