Brother's Food Mart accused of negligence after slip and fall incident

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she was caused to slip and fall while in an Orleans Parish store.

Lenora Mosley filed a suit against Brother's Petroleum LLC, doing business as Brother's Food Mart, and Catlin Specialty Insurance Co. in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was at the Brother's Food Mart at 1926 Newton St. on March 9, 2015. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on by a wet substance that had been left on the floor.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to maintain the premises in a responsible manner and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Ryan J. Hughes and Robert T. Hughes of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division F Judge Christopher J. Bruno.
