Jefferson Financial Credit Union alleges it had to repay fraudulent deposits

GRETNA – A credit union alleges it had to repay unauthorized deposits made by a Jefferson Parish man.

Jefferson Financial Credit Union filed a suit against Brent Abreo in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 12.

According to the claim, the defendant had three accounts with the plaintiff and made deposits into each from Wells Fargo. The plaintiff alleges that all of the Wells Fargo deposits were returned as unauthorized and the deposits had to be repaid by the plaintiff.

The defendant is accused of fraud.

The plaintiff is seeking $45,157.58 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Jeffrey A. Jones and Roberto A. Contreras of D'Aquila, Contreras & Vega in Kenner.

The case has been assigned to Division A Judge Raymond S. Steib Jr.
