Customer claims rebar caused her to fall at a Walgreens

NEW ORLEANS – A St. Bernard Parish woman alleges she was injured at a pharmacy in Mississippi.

Alley Kieff filed a complaint on Sept. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against Walgreen Co., doing business as Walgreens Family of Cos., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 29, she was safely and prudently walking in the parking lot of Walgreens store in Waveland, Mississippi when she to tripped over a piece of steel rebar, causing her to sustain serious injuries and damages, resulting in pain, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of earning capacity and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds Walgreen Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn its guests and customers of a known hazardous condition and failed to correct said hazardous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all amounts commensurate with her damages, plus interest, costs of these proceedings and for all other due and just relief.
