GRETNA – A woman claims that she was caused to slip and fall in a restaurant.
Cassandra Dorsey filed a suit against Caffe! Caffe! Restaurant Inc., Avenue Caffe LLC, J. Lef LLC, State National Insurance Co. Inc. and State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 26.
According to the claim, the plaintiff was a customer at the defendants' location of 3547 N. Hullen St. on Jan. 27 when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to slip and fall on a wet portion of floor while approaching the cashier.
The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to inspect the premises and failing to warn the plaintiff of the danger.
The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Roderick Alvendia, J. Bart Kelly III, Amy C. Fontenot and Kurt A. Offner of Alvendia, Kelly & Demarest in New Orleans.
