Hong Kong Food Market shopper alleges knife cut her arm

GRETNA – A woman claims that her arm was cut by a box of knives while shopping at a Gretna store.

Delia Hitchens filed a suit against Hong Kong Food Market, Jencam Food Market LLC, and Mesa Underwriters Specialty Insurance Co. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Oct. 28.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was shopping at the Hong Kong Food Market on Nov. 1, 2015, when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused injury when she picked up a box that contained knives and one of the knives fell out of the box, slicing her arm.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Marie A. Bookman of New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division N Judge Stephen D. Enright Jr.
