Woman alleges fall at Loyola University resulted in hip replacement surgery

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that she was injured while attending a play at a university.

Eileen Reed filed a suit against the board of trustees of Loyola University of New Orleans and/or Loyola University of New Orleans and ABC insurance company in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 20.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was a guest at a play that was being held at the defendant's property on Oct. 31, 2015. The suit states that the plaintiff was caused to trip and fall on a platform that was in her way to her seat. She alleges the incident resulted in a fracture in the ball socket of her hip and that she needed hip replacement surgery.

The defendants are accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. She is represented by Gayle Reynolds of Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
