Woman files suit against Ochsner Clinic Foundation, doctor alleging post-surgery pain

Medical malpractice 02

NEW ORLEANS – A woman claims that a doctor and medical center breached a standard of care in her surgery.

Inga Barre-Williams, wife of/and Raymond Julius Williams, individually and on behalf of their minor child, and Ryan Williams filed a suit against Marcus Ware M.D. and Ochsner Clinic Foundation and Hospital in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 13.

According to the claim, Barre-Williams had a medical procedure completed by the defendant in 2014. The suit states that following the surgery the plaintiff complained of pain that she alleges was not addressed in a professional manner. The suit states that the defendant operated the wrong level of the spine during the surgery.

The defendants are accused of medical malpractice through failing to properly identify the plaintiff's condition, failing to provide the proper level of care and failing to take the plaintiff's complaints seriously.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by Daniel W. Nodurft of Chalmette.

The case has been assigned to Division E Judge Clare Jupiter.
