Ceco Concrete Construction seeks more than $65,000 it alleges it is owed

NEW ORLEANS – A construction company alleges it is owed more than $65,000 for work on a project.

Ceco Concrete Construction LLC filed a suit against Federal Insurance Co., The Continental Insurance Co., Fidelity and Deposit Co. of Maryland, Zurich American Insurance Co. and Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 28.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was contracted to complete certain duties by Skanska MAPP in 2012 with the defendants as sureties. The suit states that Skanska MAPP failed to make payments to the plaintiff, despite amicable demands from the plaintiff and full completion of duties outlines in the contract.

The defendants are accused of breach of contract.

The plaintiff is seeking $65,891.18 in damages. The plaintiff is represented by Scott C. Barney, John F. Olinde and Mary W. Dale of Chafee McCall LLP in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division J Judge Paula A. Brown.
