Omega Enterprises tenants allege apartment had mold issues

NEW ORLEANS – A family alleges they were exposed to toxic mold in their apartment.

Millette Womack, individually and on behalf of her minor children filed a suit against Omega Enterprises LLC and Daniel Nitschke in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court on Oct. 31.

According to the claim, the plaintiffs were residents of the property located at 2533 Eagle St., New Orleans, which is owned by the defendants. The suit states that while the plaintiffs were at the property, they were exposed to dangerous toxins and mold, which caused health issues.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to maintain the property and failing to provide a safe place to live.

The plaintiffs are seeking an unspecified amount in damages. They are represented by DaShawn Hayes of the Hayes Law Firm in New Orleans.

The case has been assigned to Division L Judge Kern A. Reese.
