Worker alleges he found live wire while working on chimney

GRETNA – A man is seeking damages after he allegedly encountered a live wire.

Brandon Bonck filed a suit against Entergy Louisiana LLC and Chardonnay Village Condominium Association Inc. in the 24th Judicial District Court on Nov. 28.

According to the claim, the plaintiff was working on one of the chimneys on the Chardonnay Village Condominium Association's property on Feb. 29 when the incident occurred. The suit states that the plaintiff encountered a live wire operated by Entergy, which was dangerous and could have injured him.

The defendants are accused of negligence through failing to properly manage the property to ensure safety of the workers, failing to warn of the power line and overall negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking an unspecified amount in damages. The plaintiff is represented by George B. Recile and Barry W. Sartin of Chehardy, Sherman, Williams, Murray, Recile, Stakelum & Hayes in Metairie.

The case has been assigned to Division H Judge Glenn B. Ansardi.
